Abbie Cornish (born 7 August 1982) is an Australian actress. Cornish was most famous for her performances in films including Heidi, Fanny Brawne and Sweet Pea (in Sucker Punch), Lindy and RoboCop (2011) and Sarah as well as Geostorm (2017). Cornish received her debut Screen Actors Guild Award in the ensemble cast of this movie. Fordham College was her first option when she was ready to go to the college of her dreams. There she learned how to master her craft. After graduating, Gilpin began acting in Off-Broadway productions while auditioning for television and film roles. Gilpin was cast in a minor role in Ghost Town 2008 and The Northern Kingdom (2009). In addition, she appeared on part of NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent from 2001-2011. Gilpin landed mostly TV part-time roles in the years to come, but her big break came in 2013, when she was chosen to be an actress on Nurse Jackie. Gilpin's character, Carrie Roman Gilpin as Dr. Carrie Roman Gilpin, appeared in 34 episodes of Nurse Jackie before the show closed on June 15 2015. In the same year Gilpin played a role in the crime-thriller True Story (2015).
